On June 21, 2024, the Subchapter V and Chapter 13 debt provisions of the Bankruptcy Threshold Adjustment and Technical Corrections Act sunset. As of June 22, 2024, the Subchapter V debt limit is $3,024,725, while the two-part Chapter 13 threshold is an amount not more than $465,275 for unsecured noncontingent liquidated debt and $1,395,875 for secured noncontingent liquidated debt. The Court has issued General Order 24-0001 (Audio-Only Remote Public Access to Bankruptcy Proceedings), which outlines the circumstances by which a Bankruptcy Judge may authorize live remote public audio access to a Bankruptcy Court proceeding.
The Court seeks to fill two vacancies on the Local Rules Committee for a three-year term beginning April 1, 2024. Attorneys who practice in the Evansville, New Albany or Terre Haute divisions are encouraged to apply. More information regarding Terms of Office and Duties of committee members is found in the Court’s General Order 23-0003; the Committee meets one Friday afternoon each month from March or April through October in fulfillment of its duties.
