The United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Indiana has issued General Order 20-0008, setting new policies in Chapter 13 cases resulting from the CARES Act. Those policies concern notices of mortgage forbearance and requests to extend plan terms for up to seven years. For specifics, read the General Order here.
Effective immediately, all in-person chapter 7, 12, and 13 section 341 meetings scheduled through April 10, 2020, are hereby continued until a later date to be determined. Click here for more information.
The Court’s ECF Administrative Policies and Procedures, which have the same effect as a local rule pursuant to Local Rule B-5005-4, provide that an attorney may use the accepted e-signature format for a debtor client on a document filed with the Court if the attorney possesses the original document with the debtor’s wet signature.
