Pro Se Document Portal

The Pro Se Electronic Document Upload Portal (Portal) is available for parties without an attorney to submit documents for filing with the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Indiana (the "Court").

The following restrictions apply:

  • The Court's Filing Procedures for Parties not Represented by an Attorney apply to use of the Portal.
  • New petitions may only be filed by U.S. Mail, hand delivery to the front counter of the Bankruptcy Clerk's Office in Evansville, Indianapolis, or New Albany, or by using the Electronic Self-Representation platform. You cannot use the Portal to file a new petition.
  • All documents that require a signature must contain the filer's original handwritten signature. After it is physically signed, the document should be scanned, saved, and submitted as a PDF file – no other document types will be accepted.
    • Schedules A/B through Schedule J and the Declaration About an Individual Debtor's Schedules may be submitted as one PDF.
    • Pay Advices (or Statement in Lieu of Pay Advices), the Statement About Your Social Security Number, and Chapter 13 plans must be submitted as separate PDFs.
  • Documents submitted to the Court by 4:00 p.m. on a business day will be considered filed on that day. Documents submitted after 4:00 p.m. on a business day, on a federal holiday, or on a weekend day, will be considered filed on the next business day.
  • Filing fees due to the Court (check the Schedule of Bankruptcy Fees to determine if a fee applies) are to be paid through the Court's Online Fee Payments portal, Pay.gov, or by mailing a cashier's check or money order, made payable to "Clerk, U.S. Bankruptcy Court" and that includes your related case number, to U.S. Bankruptcy Court, 46 E.
