The Small Business Reorganization Act (“SBRA”) takes effect on February 19th. SBRA establishes a new Subchapter V within Chapter 11 and will result in changes to forms and to ECF events on its effective date. For more information click here.
The Court has adopted by general order the changes to the national rules needed to implement SBRA. For more information review the general order here. Watch for a notice about new ECF events for use in SBRA cases that will be issued prior to the February 19th effective date.

The United States Department of Justice, Office of the United States Trustee, seeks resumes from persons wishing to be considered for inclusion in a pool of trustees who may be appointed on a case-by-case basis to administer cases filed under the Small Business Reorganization Act of 2019 (Subchapter V), which amended chapter 11 of title 11 of the United States Code (Bankruptcy Code). The United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit announced today that Andrea K. McCord has been appointed as United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Southern District of Indiana. Judge McCord will take office on May 20, 2019, where she will succeed Bankruptcy Judge Basil H. Lorch, III. Please see the Press Release for further information.
